Conor McGregor claims Kim Kardashian is his cousin in surprising family revelation

Conor McGregor has set the MMA world abuzz with his astonishing claim that Kim Kardashian is his cousin. The ex-dual-weight UFC champion, who hasn't stepped into the ring since his defeat to Dustin Poirier in 2021, continues to make headlines despite his absence from the octagon.Recently, the 37-year-old dabbled in gaming and joined his son on a live stream. Unsurprisingly, he stirred up a bit of chaos. The host was soon apologising after the Dublin fighter let slip a swear word on the stream. Additional clips have emerged online showing the 'Notorious' struggling to get to grips with the game, as well as joking that his character resembled rapper Ice Spice. However, the most notable moment from his appearance came when he delved into his family history. When asked if his eldest son knew Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's son, Saint, McGregor brought up the Kardashian name - a name synonymous with Hollywood and entertainment fame, reports the Mirror. Before a response could be given, McGregor interjected, asserting a familial connection between the two clans. "We know the Kardashians," McGregor declared."They're actually our cousins, would you believe. We've done a family tree, and it traces right back to the McGregors. "Robert Roy McGregor was an ancient highland warrior of the McGregor clan we come from. And would you believe the Kardashians trace to him, too! They've been at some of my fights, the Kardashians."Good people... Up the Kardashians if you are watching." In recent months, McGregor has been intensifying his training regime amidst rumours of a 2026 comeback.Back in October, the Dubliner claimed that his UFC return was all but confirmed, only for boss Dana White to quickly quash those claims. The 37-year-old is aiming to feature on the White House card this June. However, he was close to missing the aforementioned event entirely after receiving an 18-month suspension for drugs following three missed tests in 2024. Initially facing a two-year ban that would have ruled him out of June's UFC event in Washington - he's now benched until March 20 instead.Despite expressing interest in a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, it seems there is one main contender for a potential showdown with McGregor. Michael Chandler has repeatedly called for the bout following their time as rival coaches on 'The Ultimate Fighter' series back in 2023.Both fighters were scheduled to meet in the octagon in 2024, however McGregor had to withdraw after picking up a training injury. Nevertheless, during the "New Year's Eve Life: Nashville's Big Bash" broadcast, Chandler appeared alongside host Bert Kreischer. In his short appearance, the American fighter hinted that a lucrative bout with McGregor might be back on the cards."I will say, it's going to be a big year," Chandler said. "Number one, like you said, the UFC is now on Paramount+, the entire year...for the multitude of [years]...and also, there's a rumour going around."We can't confirm nor deny, but it does sound like I might be handing Conor McGregor a good ol' passionate, 'red, white and blue' butt whooping in the South Lawn of the White House sometime this summer. And that's the plan, let's go."Join our Dublin Live breaking news service on WhatsApp. Click this link to receive your daily dose of Dublin Live content.
