Father and son (11) found dead at two separate Dublin houses named

A man and young child found dead in Dublin in a suspected murder-suicide have been identified as Wayne O’Reilly (48) and his 11-year-old son Oisín. Gardaí sealed off two properties in west Dublin after their bodies were discovered on Thursday morning. They are not looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths, believing Mr O’Reilly murdered the child before taking his own life. The pair were reported missing last October but were later located safe and well. The investigation is being carried out under a senior investigating officer.”It is understood investigating gardaí spent Thursday morning trying to trace relatives of the man and the child to inform them of their deaths.Tusla confirmed the family was known to the agency. In a statement, the child and family agency said the young boy was not in the care of the State.“We continue to engage with An Garda Síochána as they conduct their investigation, and it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time,” it said.
