Minister Healy-Rae adds another property to portfolio under Ukrainian accommodation linked company

Rosemount Three in Tralee, Co KerryA property management firm owned by Kerry TD and junior minister Michael Healy-Rae, has bought another property in the county, advertising it as the third in a line of guesthouses linked to accommodating Ukrainian refugees.Roughty Properties LTD bought the property back in July 2025, with a sign promoting ‘Rosemount Three’ having been erected since.The Property Services Regulatory Authority lists an agreed sale price for the house located in Tralee as €485,000.Minister Healy-Rae declined to comment on the purchase.Figures from the Department of Children, Disability and Equality show Minister Healy-Rae’s Rosemount brand received €470,640 for housing Ukrainian refugees in 2024, with payments decreasing sharply in the final quarter of 2024.The equality department’s quarterly figures, which detail all procurement costs over €20,000, show no payment was made to Roughty Properties or Rosemont in 2025, though Q4 data is yet to be released.The Roughty property firm is now Mr Healy-Rae’s most profitable enterprise, recording combined profits of €841,908 over 2023 and 2024.The Kerry TD’s entry in the Dáil Register of Members’ Interests states that the main activity of Roughty Properties Ltd is “management of rental properties”.In the register, Mr Healy-Rae describes himself as an owner of rental properties and his entry lists 17 separate properties for letting, including 14 houses.Separate accounts filed earlier this year by Mr Healy-Rae’s plant hire firm, Roughty Plant Hire Ltd, show that its accumulated profits increased by €74,887 from €734,024 to €808,911 in the 12 months to the end of April 2024.Funded by the Local Democracy Reporting scheme
