LOI transfers: Lomboto and Kazeem return to Galway

Francely Lomboto and Al-Amin Kazeem are back with Galway United for the new season as John Caulfield attempts to offset some big departures from Eamonn Deacy Park. Lomboto, a former United academy player, spent part of last season with Sligo Rovers as he bagged four goals, before departing for Glenavon for an undisclosed fee in the window. The Northern Irish Premiership side parted ways with the Galwegian in November, with Caulfield deciding to bring the striker back to the club. Lomboto feels he could be an improved player returning home: "It's good to be back. It’s been a long time, it’s just good to be back. "It’s been bit of a journey. John and I have always had a good relationship no matter what. When he spoke to me about coming back, I was champing at the bit, it was a no brainer, why not like? "It was good to get away for a period of time, so that I can mature, because of that familiarity and in your hometown." Kazeem left United in the summer of 2024 to join St. Patrick's Athletic but the move did not go as planned as he fell out of favour with the Saints. The left-back said is thrilled to re-join Caulfield's charges. "I’ve had a lot of ups and downs but at the end of the day sometimes things always end up in a cyclical manner. "I'm just glad I’m in a place that I can be trusted, and people around me want me to play and believe in my ability. I’m glad to be here and hopefully I can show what I can do on the pitch. "(John Caulfield) a man who does believe in me and trust in me, hopefully I can repay him with good performances and repay my teammates for putting their trust in me."
