‘There’s nothing we can’t sell’ claims property firm after burnt-out house completes

An property firm has boasted that “there’s nothing we can’t sell” after securing buyers for a house completely gutted in a suspected arson attack (main image). Ray Cooke Auctioneers suffered a barrage of abuse on social media earlier this year when the firm advertised the property in Dublin with a guide price of €225,000. Huge potential The advert said the house represented an “excellent renovation opportunity”, “ideal for investors or buyers seeking a project”, and a “blank canvas with huge potential”. A video clip showing the house with broken and boarded up windows (see main picture) attracted more than 830,000 views on TikTok, the Irish Mirror reports. ‘Triple blazed’ Comments included: “Are the windows double blazed or triple blazed”, and “the local window cleaner uses a sander”. There were also joke questions about whether the property had a petrol or electric oven, “does it come with smoke alarms”, as well as “where is the nearest fire station?”. Abuse The agency took some criticism for marketing a property that may have to be demolished. Ray Cooke says negotiator Kevin O’Reilly, who handled the sale, “got an awful time and an awful amount of abuse.” There’s absolutely nothing this team cannot sell.” But now, Ray Cooke says the house sold just two weeks after going to market, and closed within six weeks. “Our northside team done a fantastic job. There’s absolutely nothing this team cannot sell,” the agency says. The amount the house actually sold for has not been disclosed. Picture: Ray Cooke Auctioneers More on auctions
