Viral 'burned out' Dublin home sold within weeks of going on market
Remember earlier this year when a home in Dublin that appeared to have been targeted in an arson attack hit the market? It sold within weeks.
The home in Finglas went viral for all the wrong reasons back in October, when it was advertised as needing ‘a full renovation throughout’, mainly due to the fact that the house appeared to have been burned out with its windows smashed.
While people queried if the home had a petrol or electric oven, and where the nearest fire station is, it appears that those questions were genuine — as the home went sale agreed within two weeks, with Ray Cooke Auctioneers saying that the sale was closed just four weeks later.

Appearing outside the home — which is still boarded up with shattered windows — the Northside team at Ray Cookes said that it was ‘probably our most popular house on the northside this year,’ before lamenting that the auctioneer, Kevin, had ‘an awful time with an awful amount of views,’ with comments saying on the previous video that he did a better acting job at flogging the house than the actors on Fair City.
‘This property went sale agreed in two weeks from going to the market, and it closed in six weeks and six days from that date,’ the auctioneers confirmed, before adding: ‘there’s absolutely nothing this Northside team cannot sell.’
People were amazed at the sale in the comments (and commended the sales team), with one commenting: ‘houses sell themselves these days.’

The house went viral back in October when it went on the market, and was deleted swiftly after the fact (apparently due to selling that quickly) but the comments saw people see the funny in the dire situation that is the ongoing housing crisis.
‘‘“Full renovation”, is that what we are calling post petrol bombed gaffs?’ one person commented, while another added ‘is the oven electric or petrol?’

‘How far away is the closest fire station?’ another queried, while another added ‘does the home come with round the clock security?’
