Arrest made as part of Daniel Areubose investigation

Gardaí investigating the death of Dublin toddler Daniel Areubose have confirmed a woman, aged in her 20s, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. It comes just a week after Gardaí confirmed a homicide investigation had been launched into the child’s death, following the discovery of his remains. Last week, Daniel should have celebrated his 8th birthday, but it is believed he died when he was just three years old. They said: ‘As part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Daniel Aruebose, Gardaí have this morning, arrested a woman aged in her 20s on suspicion of murder. ‘She is currently detained under provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region.’ Last week, Daniel Areubose should have celebrated his 8th birthday, however it is understood he died when he was just three years old. They added that investigations remained ‘ongoing.’ It comes not long after a homicide investigation was launched with Gardaí reiterating their appeal for anyone with information to come forward. The public is being urged not to assume that Gardaí already possess information they may hold, or that any detail is too small or insignificant. The investigation team will determine the relevance of any information provided. The statement went on to say that Gardaí are aware of extensive public commentary that has been circulating regarding the investigation into the child’s death.
