Club GAA: Places in All-Ireland senior and intermediate hurling finals up for grabs
Michael Verney: Loughrea blow away Slaughtneil but semi-final ends on sour note after Killeen red Loughrea steamrolled Slaughtneil to book their place in the All-Ireland club SHC final with a sensational second-half display seeing them comfortably home by 11 points, 2-22 to 0-15.Goals in either half from Anthony Burns and Vince Morgan helped Tommy Kelly's men exert their dominance and in truth, they were comfortably the better team for the duration of the game. They should have ben further ahead at the break, 1-9 to 0-10, but they really made it count on the scoreboard in the second half with Morgan, Jamie Ryan and sub Neil Keary showing up very well.Their best player, however, was midfielder Cullen Killeen but his participation in the All-Ireland final looks in huge doubt after he saw red from referee Johnny Murphy in the dying seconds for a flick on Brendan Rogers. That was the only sour note on what was a brilliant day for the Galway men in the capital and they have an All-Ireland final against either Ballygunner or St Martin's to look forward to on January 18.
