Roger Keenan to take over as Clan na Gael manager
Tyrone native and Ulster Coach Education manager Roger Keenan has been confirmed as the manager for Clan na Gael.Keenan takes over from Ronan McMahon, who spent three years in charge of the blue half of Lurgan.The Ulster GAA officer led Kildress to a Tyrone junior championship title in 2020 and was in charge of Carrickmore during their back-to-back senior triumphs, the last time the O’Neill Cup was retained.Read more:Tyrone U16 coach James Kennedy joins Keenan’s staff as a selector, along with recently retired local duo of Diarmuid O’Hagan and Sean Mackle.Clan na Gael made the Armagh senior football final in 2024 and will hope that they can get back to those heights again next year.The Gaels finished bottom of their group in this year’s Armagh SFC, losing to Maghery, Culloville and Killeavy and will compete in Division 1B of the league, having suffered relegation from the top tier.They hope to be able to call on Stefan Campbell for the upcoming club leagues season following the Armagh star’s recent inter-county retirement.The appointment of Keenan comes days after Clan na Gael’s rivals Clann Eireann saw their manager, Ruairi Lavery, take over at Galbally in Tyrone.
