The severe weather is likely to result in flooding of homes and businesses, while roads could become treacherous due to the conditions.Public transport services are also set to be disrupted, with cancellations and significant delays anticipated for both train and bus services. The Met Office advises residents in these areas to avoid travelling by road during potentially hazardous conditions.A spokesperson stated: "If you must travel, ensure you watch for possible danger and drive cautiously. It is not safe to drive, walk or swim through floodwater, avoid it where possible and if you are affected by fast flowing or deep-water call 999, and wait for help."Consider checking on vulnerable people that you know including older people, those with underlying conditions and those who live alone; they may need support with food and medical supplies."To remain properly prepared for flooding, make sure you have a flood kit at the ready.
