Meet the Crochet Queen of Swindon
Shani Moore, known as the Crochet Queen of Swindon, launched her business, Creative Crochet by Shani, in June 2024 at Studley Grange Craft Village, and demand has grown so rapidly that she doubled the size of her shop within three months.
She now runs three workshops a day, six days a week, with bookings filled into February 2026 and customers travelling from as far as Portsmouth and Cardiff.
Her workshops, described by participants as much more than a craft class, offer a sense of community and calm.
A customer named Jackie said: "I joined Shani’s classes after recovering from kidney cancer surgery, hoping to find something new to focus on.
"I decided to try Tunisian crochet, and it’s been life-changing — I’ve gained a new skill and made amazing friends along the way."
Ms Moore’s journey began at just nine years old, taught by her grandmother Jessie and mother June.
Even while raising three children and co-directing a logistics business with her husband in Wiltshire, she kept up her craft and became a full-time carer for her parents in 2014.
She launched her business in 2024, turning a lifelong passion into a flourishing enterprise.
In addition to her regular workshops, Ms Moore runs a Carers Crochet session at Willowbrook View Care Home, offering a creative outlet to both carers and residents.
She welcomes participants from age six upwards and is DBS checked.
