Innovative climate-tech start-up wins Business Award

Headquartered in Norwich, iBOXiT delivers scalable, patented packaging solutions to replace expanded polystyrene (EPS) in cold chain logistics. It is driven by a mission to eliminate plastic pollution and cut food waste, while unlocking significant commercial value for logistics providers and food producers. iBOXiT’s packaging is made from agricultural waste and is fully compostable and cost competitive. It matches EPS on strength, insulation and durability – making it a viable alternative for seafood, fresh produce and pharmaceutical distribution. It has also created a plant-based antimicrobial spray that extends shelf life by up to 14 days, reducing waste and loss across the supply chain. The company has made great strides over the past 18 months, and its manufacturing partners, 2M Chemicals and Advanced Plastics Group, enable rapid scale-up across both single and multi-trip packaging products. It is also engaging in pilot trials across the UK and in Singapore, China and New Zealand, while also forming R&D collaborations across Europe. iBOXiT’s team combines decades of experience in sustainable materials, global logistics and venture growth, and is building a world-leading cleantech company with real impact right here in Norfolk.
