Zoe and Anthony ‘reunited’ as she seeks his help in EastEnders

Zoe finds her knight in shining armour in Anthony (Picture: BBC) It’s a turbulent week in EastEnders as the Slaters prepare to say an emotional goodbye to Freddie and Anna,  but celebrations quickly descend into chaos when tensions erupt, old wounds resurface, and Zoe finds herself turning to Anthony when she believes she’s been pushed out by her own family. With the household already strained, Jean’s behaviour continues to worry those closest to her. She’s determined that Zoe is a danger to the family, but her fixation has started to take its toll. Lily in particular is becoming increasingly alarmed, convinced her gran is pushing herself far too hard in her mission to keep Zoe at arm’s length. Yet Jean refuses to slow down, and her tunnel vision is setting the stage for a dramatic showdown. As the Slaters gather for Freddie and Anna’s farewell festivities, the mood is anything but festive. Kat, juggling the demands of her fractured family, finds herself forced into peacemaker mode once again. Zoe is on edge, struggling to hold it together as the atmosphere tightens around her. Kat does what she can to calm her daughter’s rising panic, but Zoe’s barely-contained fear and frustration threaten to boil over at any moment. Elaine steps up in The Vic to make a heartfelt speech paying tribute to both Freddie and Anna as everyone gathers around the Square’s Christmas lights. But what should be a moment of community spirit instantly twists into something far more sinister. When the lights flick on, a chilling message appears in The Vic’s window, a disturbing warning clearly targeted at Zoe. Zoe is mortified… and terrified. And when she later makes a shocking discovery in Tommy’s rucksack, all her fears suddenly come crashing down. Convinced she’s found her tormentor, Zoe wastes no time in naming Tommy as the culprit, certain that he’s been the one sending threats and trying to force her out. Upstairs, Tommy is horrified by the accusation. In front of Kat, Alfie and Zoe, he fiercely protests his innocence, swearing he’s had nothing to do with any of the frightening incidents. But Zoe, pushed to the brink by stress and paranoia, refuses to believe him. The confrontation escalates rapidly, with Kat and Alfie desperately trying to diffuse the situation as emotions run dangerously high. Hurt, humiliated and feeling more alone than ever, she has no idea where to go,, but that’s when she finds unexpected refuge in a familiar face: Anthony. Sensing her distress, Anthony immediately softens, inviting Zoe inside without hesitation. She breaks down, admitting she feels shut out from her own family, and with nowhere left to turn, she accepts his offer to stay the night. As the Slaters raise a bittersweet final toast to Freddie and Anna, unaware of Zoe’s whereabouts, a new chapter begins for Zoe and Anthony. But is this a moment of comfort… or the start of an even more complicated entanglement?
