Prince Harry attempted to prepare Meghan Markle for the intense public scrutiny that comes with royal life before they tied the knot.It has been just over eight years since Harry and Meghan announced their engagement to the world on November 27, 2017.During a BBC interview that day, Harry told his then-fiancée, "I tried to warn you as much as possible but I think both of us were totally surprised by the reaction after the first five, six months which we had to ourselves [and] what actually happened from then."Harry was looking back on the private months the pair enjoyed together before news of their romance broke to the media in autumn 2016.The prince admitted he and Meghan were "totally unprepared" for the media storm that followed, while she addressed the false assumption that her acting career would have equipped her to handle the spotlight.She said, "I've never been part of tabloid culture.
