Envision the Power to Heal
Envision Kindness has launched its latest photographic competition, and is on the lookout for shots from around the world that capture inspiring moments of kindness, caring, love and connection. It’s free to enter, there are cash prizes to be won and it’s a chance to share images that could make a genuine difference.
THERE ARE HUGE numbers of competitions out there and sometimes it’s difficult to pick and choose which ones to focus on. The ‘Our World is Kind’ open event run by Envision Kindness is a little different, however, offering not just cash prizes and exposure for those that have their entries selected, but the opportunity to be involved in promoting a philosophy that’s based around the universal concept of goodwill, love and kindness.
This will be the seventh such event, and pictures that have done well in previous competitions, which have come from a total of, have been those that reflect simple and often spontaneous acts of kindness. These can be anything from an impromptu hug, a special moment captured between a parent or grandparent and a child or a touching inter-species connection involving humans and animals, and demonstrating that such moments are universal is the fact that these have been submitted by some 150 countries around the world.
All are images with the power to inspire and be uplifting for those finding themselves in stressful situations, with Envision Kindness’ core belief being that pictures of this kind come with the ability to reduce stress and to quickly help people feel happier and more connected to others.
Competition details
This is the seventh international kindness photography contest organised by non-profit organisation Envision Kindness since 2017, it’s free to enter and previous events have attracted more than 2000 entries from around the world. Multiple prizes are on offer, with the top prize being $2000 USD. There are also prizes on offer for photographic clubs and non-profit organisations, along with a number of honourable mentions.
You need to be over 18 to enter and have until December 15, 2025 to submit, with finalists being selected in January 2026 through online voting and by the Envision Kindness staff. The ten images with the most votes become finalists, with the winners revealed in February next year.
Winning photographers may also be invited to join a special group, called Select Photographers and, when their images are accepted, they’re guaranteed to receive an honorarium from Envision Kindness, along with the opportunity to compete for additional honours and prizes.
Recognising the changing environment we live in, this year there is also a separate category for AI generated images. Called ‘Inner Visions,’ the idea behind this category is to allow image makers to share concepts that might not be possible through traditional photography. These images will be judged separately, and won’t compete with traditional photographs.
