Northern Ireland pizza chain announces opening of two new stores
Owners of The Pizza Co Matt McGrath, Matthew Stevenson and Conall HumstonA Northern Ireland pizza chain has announced the opening of two new stores in a £0.6m investment creating 40 jobs.The Pizza Co. is opening in east and north Belfast, with a new store on Knock Road and another at the Ardoyne shops. The company said the openings were a “major milestone,” including its first opening in the north of the city.It follows strong demand across its six existing locations, the company said.It’s owned and operated by three friends Matthew Stevenson, Conall Humston and Matt McGrath.In the last two years, the company has changed ownership, rebranded and opened its sixth store in Lisburn.It has also invested in its facilities, including a new prep kitchen where dough is made using premium equipment imported from Italy.Mr Stevenson said: “Over the last two years, we’ve made significant investments in our infrastructure and focused on growing a brand that prioritises quality, freshness and local provenance."The opening of our second store in east Belfast, along with our first expansion into the north of the city, represents an exciting new chapter in our ambitious growth strategy.”News Catch Up - Monday 24 NovemberHe said he had met Mr Humston and Mr McGrath in 2009 when they were working at another pizza chain.
