90 Day Fiance community is mourning the loss of longtime cast member Libby's father, Chuck Potthast. The TV star shared the news on her social media handle on Sunday. Libby took to her Instagram account and shared a family picture, including her, her husband, their kids, and Chuck on November 23, 2025 (ET), revealing that the latter passed away following a harrowing battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
According to Libby's post, Chuck Potthast passed away earlier in November 2025. He was surrounded by family as he died, leaving what relatives described as an immeasurable void. He was 64 years old. The TV personality revealed that they are learning to navigate their lives without Chuck and requested privacy in this difficult time. The post could be read as saying:
"Two weeks ago, tragedy struck our family, and it has left us completely shattered. My sweet, loving, and caring dad went to heaven. We’re trying to figure out how to navigate our lives and move forward without him. Please respect our privacy during this extremely difficult time."

While Libby turned off the comment section on her post, it was shared on the discussion platform Reddit soon after. Netizens took to the comment section to share their condolences with the family. A user penned, "All snark and annoyance with them aside, this is incredibly sad, and I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I hope they’re somehow able to come together during this and not split apart." Another wrote, "I always felt so bad for Chuck; you could clearly tell he loves all his kids and just wanted them to get along so badly. Rip Chuck, hope you’ve finally found peace."

Just seven weeks prior, Potthast shared an update on Instagram, posing with a smile as he spent the day out on the boat. The post featured photos of Libby, Andrei, and their children, Eleanor and Winston. The reality star loved sharing moments with his loved ones on social media.
