In a Facebook post, he wrote: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce the sad passing of my brother Gary Mani Mounfield. RIP RKID." He further commented below the post: "Reunited with his beautiful wife Imelda."The announcement of Mani's death comes almost exactly two years after the passing of his wife Imelda, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2020 and sadly passed away in 2023. RIP Gaz."Since Mani's passing, the family has shared numerous touching tributes. On Friday, November 21, his stepbrother, John Barlow, posted a childhood photo of himself with Mani and Greg on Facebook, writing: "Absolutely devastated to hear of the sudden passing of my step brother Gary 'Mani' Mounfield."Having recently lost his wife Imelda it now leaves the two boys without a mum or dad. My thoughts are with his brother Greg and the boys, absolutely tragic."Greg also took to Facebook to share a nostalgic photo of the pair, captioning it simply: "Heartbroken". The throwback snap showed a young Mani, clad in a zip-up and jeans, standing next to Greg who was sporting a blue shirt and glasses.Hailing from Crumpsall in Manchester, Mani shot to stardom after joining The Stone Roses in the 1980s. He played on both of the band's albums and remained with the Stone Roses until their split in 1996, before moving on to join Primal Scream.In 2011, he announced his departure from Primal Scream to reunite with the Stone Roses. Following the sad news of his passing, tributes have flooded in from across the music industry, including from Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown. His heartfelt message read: "REST IN PEACE MANi X."A post shared by the Stone Roses echoed the sentiment, stating: "RIP our wonderful brother Mani.
