Inside the Cosmo x NYX Professional Makeup Speakeasy

If there’s one thing I’m thankful for this holiday season, it’s the way this year has consistently handed us quintessential New York nights. Our 60th anniversary dinner at The Carlyle. Our Cosmo Reads launch party at Apartment 5. The latest addition to the list? The Cosmo x NYX Professional Makeup Speakeasy, hosted by Cosmopolitan beauty editor-at-large, Julee Wilson. On Wednesday November 19th, The Django jazz club was transformed into the ultimate secret burlesque club in celebration of NYX Professional Makeup's new Lip Lingerie Liner Stain. In true speakeasy fashion, all guests needed a password to enter (hint: it’s already appeared once in this paragraph). Beyond the velvet entry drapes, guests drank signature cocktails inspired by NYX Professional Makeup's Lip Lingerie Liner Stain, complete with lip-lined drink stirrers, chocolate fishnet detailing, and, of course, NYX-branded ice (because why not?) Then, they tried out the new product for themselves at perfectly lit glam stations. Next up was a string of performances from burlesque dancers Bryona Ashly, Media Noche, and Audrey Love that helped everyone live out their wildest Christina Aguilera dreams (I know the Burlesque soundtrack is on your Spotify Wrapped, don’t lie!) In addition to lip-shaped cookies (in the color of the NYX Professional Makeup Lip Lingerie Liner Stains, of course) and tons of products, guests took home polaroids by celeb-favorite photographer Paris Mumpower, and lip liner portraits (yup, you read that right) drawn by Ariana Grande’s tattoo artist Mira Mariah. Like I said: it was just one of those New York nights.Just because you weren’t there doesn’t mean you can’t feel like you were. Luckily, we have tons of pics to help with that. Enjoy!
