Rapper 'kidnapped fan at gunpoint after trying to take a selfie'
A French rapper has been charged for allegedly kidnapping a teenage fan at gunpoint and burning his clothes after he tried to take a selfie with him. Zola, whose real name is Aurélien N'zuzi Zola, is accused of holding the 19-year-old in the basement of his home for two hours where he was forced to undress, beaten, and had a handgun put in his mouth. According to Le Parisien newspaper, the teenager and two of his friends had gone to the rapper's home in Le Pin, Seine-et-Marne, on November 6 to ask to have a picture taken. Zola allegedly came outside with eight masked men and chased after the trio. Two of the fans managed to flee, but the teen was allegedly caught and dragged back to the star's home. The rapper is currently being held in pre-trial detention with three others, aged 25 and 26. The charges include unauthorised possession of a weapon, property damage, aggravated assault, kidnapping, and theft.Prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bladier said yesterday: 'During the two hours that followed, both inside and outside the said home, the victim was subjected to numerous acts of violence in the form of punches, kicks, insults and verbal threats.'Having been forced to undress, his clothes were set on fire. A handgun was pointed at one of his temples before the barrel of said weapon was inserted into his mouth.'Mr Bladier claimed Zola on several occasions mentioned the teenager's ethnicity and said that he didn't want to go to prison 'for a little white kid like (him)'. It is reported they took refuge at a family member's home nearby and had to be signed off work for six days. They have since been signed off for another 35 days. Zola and his entourage were arrested when forty officers carried out a morning raid of his home on Tuesday. A further court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
