Man accused of killing mother by throwing her out of apartment window
A Spanish man has been accused of killing his mother after throwing her out of her apartment window. The 54-year-old was arrested after an elderly woman, named locally as Neus, was found lying in the the street on Monday in the Catalan town of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, near Barcelona. Emergency services rushed to the scene to treat the severely injured woman, but she died in hospital shortly after.Police located a suspect on Wednesday, who was discovered to be the victim's son, and arrested him. Local cops are now investigating the incident as a case of domestic violence. Whilst police are yet to establish the facts, neighbours claim that Neus suffered serious abuse at the hands of her son, according to local reports. The man, who neighbours claim suffers from mental health issues, would allegedly beat, hit and shout at his mother regularly. Neighbours also say that Neus had previously warned them that her son was dangerous and that he wanted to kill her. A woman named Lourdes, who was a lifelong friend of Neus, told local media: 'It was coming, but we hoped it would have been resolved.''He would shout, lean out the window, and start insulting people he didn't know. He was an unstable person.'She claims to have reached out to social services and said 'we're still waiting for answers. 'They didn't give a damn. They never came.'
