Dr Crokes unhappy at ‘retrograde step’ in Kerry County Leagues

Kerry star Mark O'Shea came up through the ranks with the Dr Crokes B and C teams Photo by Brendan Moran/SportsfileDr Crokes have come out strongly against the passing of a motion restricting the 2026 county senior football leagues to ‘A’ teams only, describing it as a ‘retrograde step’ which could end up with the GAA losing players to other sports.At Monday’s monthly meeting of the Kerry County Committee, delegates voted narrowly, by 23 votes to 18, to pass a Lios Póil motion that ‘a separate stand-alone junior football league be created exclusively for ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams, that would run concurrently with the senior county leagues.’
