Nursing home plans approved for site of Crumlin elderly housing
The nursing home planned for the Captain's Palace site off Armagh RoadA nursing home planned for the site of elderly housing in Crumlin has been approved.The plans for the nursing home at Captain's Place off the Armagh Road will allow the current owners of the site to build the long awaited development. It will be located in the heart of the Captain's Place housing development for older people.It was granted permission by Dublin City Council on October 21. Additional information was requested on the original application to address drainage concerns.Following the submission of additional information, council planners said they found no further concerns with the development and granted permission. It marks the second time a nursing home plan was sought for the site.The application said: "Aedifica Ireland is a specialist healthcare investment trust that specialises in the acquisition/development and operation of care homes for the elderly. Aedifica Ireland have 22 such facilities across Ireland at present with over 2,300 residents. Existing/planned facilities in the Dublin area include at Northwood, Beaumont Lodge, Clondalkin,Stepaside, and Loughshinny."The approved building will be five storeys in height.
