Mumbai Studio Hostage Nightmare: 17 Kids Rescued, Accused Shot Dead In Police Operation
A dramatic hostage situation gripped Mumbai for nearly an hour on Thursday when Rohit Arya, a self-styled filmmaker, held 17 schoolchildren hostage inside a studio. Police sources confirm Arya ran a YouTube channel and had called the children for a fake web series audition. During the rescue operation, Arya allegedly opened fire on police, who retaliated. He was shot and later succumbed to his injuries. Before the police stormed in, Arya released a chilling video saying — “I have questions... I’m not a terrorist.” He claimed that he had moral and ethical demands and wanted answers, not money. According to eyewitnesses, all the children were from outside Mumbai brought in for the audition.
