In the US, entertainers and opposition politicians have decried the ABC network's suspension of talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live over comments Kimmel made on his show about the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk
His remarks included accusing the "MAGA gang" scoring political points from the assassination. Donald Trump, who's often the target of Kimmel's monologues, praised Kimmel's suspension by the Disney-owned network. But Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren said Trump was "silencing free speech" and media companies were enabling what she called his "authoritarianism".
