UK-Ireland box office for July 2025 up 3% on previous year with £107m
UK-Ireland box office was up 3% in July 2025 on 2024, with year-on-year takings now up for eight of the last nine months.
July 2025 revenue came in at £107.4m, 3% up on £103.8m in July 2024. The year-to-date is now £639m, 15% ahead of 2024; although back to 1% behind 2023, when the Barbenheimer phenomenon boosted July takings.
Universal’s Jurassic World Rebirth roared with £30.3m in the month – ahead of the three big titles from July last year, Despicable Me 4 (£28.3m), Deadpool And Wolverine (£25.5m) and Inside Out 2 (£16.3m).

Jurassic World Rebirth is now the fourth-highest-grossing title of the year, behind A Minecraft Movie (£56.7m), Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy (£46.4m) and Lilo & Stitch (£36.8m).
Warner Bros’ Superman reboot took second place for the month with £23m, now the sixth-highest-grossing film of the year; while another superhero venture, Disney’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, took third spot after just one week on release, with £12.2m.
Several June holdovers made the July top 10: Warner Bros’ F1 The Movie with £10.4m, Universal’s How To Train Your Dragon with £5.1m, Sony’s Danny Boyle-directed horror 28 Years Later with £4.2m, and Disney animation Elio in 10th for July with £2.3m, for a £4.6m total almost five times its opening.
The increase on July 2024 and continued year-on-year advantage will be good news for exhibitors after a month that had seemed slower than those which preceded it.
August begins with Paramount’s spoof reboot The Naked Gun, with upcoming titles including Disney’s Freakier Friday (August 8), Sony’s Celine Song-directed Materialists (August 13), Universal’s Ari Aster-directed Eddington (August 22) and Disney’s The Roses starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman (August 29).
