Northern Ireland pizza brand Little Wing launches Sliced concept

Aptly named Little Wing Sliced, the new format, which opened today (1 August), serves a range of pizzas that can be ordered by the slice or as a 24-inch pie. Pizza options will include classic toppings alongside new options such as the Funghi with marinara sauce, garlic wild mushrooms, burrata and basil pesto; and the Hot Pepp with smoked and spicy double pepperoni, candied jalapenos, mozzarella, and fior di latte. ‘Signature’ toppings will also include a take on ham and pineapple featuring pulled ham hock, mozzarella, fior di latte, crispy bacon crumb, candied chilli and pepper pineapple; and a carbonara pizza with mozzarella, fior di latte, smoked burrata, garlic mushrooms, pancetta, yolk sauce, oregano and black pepper.A range of sides including giant mozzarella sticks and polenta fritters will also be available.The opening marks Little Wing’s twelfth site across Northern Ireland and its fourth in Belfast.“This is an exciting new chapter for Little Wing,” says Luke Wolsey, managing director at Little Wing.“People can expect the same great pizza they’ve come to know and love, but with a new-look restaurant designed to meet the needs of the diverse visitors to Odyssey Place. “The restaurant has been designed with the customer front of mind, from local residents and businesses to concert goers, ice hockey fans, families and visitors to the Titanic Quarter.”The group has invested £500,000 in the fit out of the new restaurant, which features banquet seating, terrazzo tiled floors and an open kitchen.“Our bigger kitchen and large deck ovens are central to this concept, helping us to serve high volumes of pizza at peak times,” adds Wolsey.Little Wing first opened in October 2009 on Ann Street in Belfast.The group adds that plans are under way to redevelop its original restaurant within the next 12 month as part of a multimillion-pound development proposed by the Beannchor Group.
