Paddy Power praised for 'backing brave ideas' after sponsoring comedy festival

Paddy Power has been praised for making the 'brave' decision to back a comedy festival. The Paddy Power Comedy Festival, which has been running for almost 20 years, was held in July at the Iveagh Gardens in Dublin. It featured an array of international acts like Simon Brodkin, a serial hoaxer known for headline-grabbing pranks. Other names lined up for the four-day event included New Yorker Janine Harouni; Scottish comics Fern Brady and Daniel Sloss; LA-based comic and writer Kim Congdon; British rising stars Red Richardson and Horatio Gould; and American comic and Netflix star Jamie Lee. There was also a host of well-known Irish comedians in the line-up including Deirdre O'Kane, Tommy Tiernan, Jason Byrne and Neil Delamere. In a post on LinkedIn CMS Marketing, who worked on the festival, reflected on the 'incredible' way the event was delivered. They wrote: "Four days. Endless laughs. One seriously brilliant client and agency team. "From early planning and creative concepts to production and delivery, it’s always incredible to bring this one to life and watch the punters soak it all in." "And for always pushing for more (but pushing us in the best way). And of course, to the team in Aiken for creating an incredible festival."
