New Genshin Impact 6.0 Characters Will Start An Epic New Gameplay Era
The Genshin Impact 6.0 characters have been leaked, and based on the information provided about their kits, they’ll initiate a new era for gameplay. Version 6.0 will be the next major patch for the action RPG created by HoYoverse. The update will take you to the region of Nod-Krai, within the nation of Snezhnaya, and introduce you to a large list of Nod-Krai characters in Genshin Impact. One of the first Nod-Krai characters is already available in the game, as Ineffa made her debut in Version 5.8. The android is an Electro sub-DPS who kicked off the Lunar-Charged mechanic, a variation of Electro-Charged reactions that can land CRIT hits on enemies. HoYoverse has already confirmed that Ineffa is only the first to enable this mechanic, and fans are hoping the Genshin Impact 6.0 characters will also feature it.
Flins & Lauma Gameplay Kits In Genshin Impact 6.0 Have Leaked
Both 5-Star Nod-Krai Characters’ Abilities Have Been Revealed
Now, the first two 5-star characters for Version 6.0, Flins and Lauma, have had their gameplay kits leaked with the start of the update’s beta tests. According to Honey Hunter World, Flins is a 5-star Electro polearm user. Based on his leaked kit, Flins is an on-field DPS who can infuse his Normal and Charged Attacks with Electro DMG as a means of enabling him to trigger Elemental Reactions. Meanwhile, Lauma in Genshin Impact had already been teased by HoYoverse. However, her new leaked kit on Honey Hunter World has confirmed that she is a 5-star Dendro catalyst user. From what can be gathered from her kit, Lauma is also an on-field DPS, though she scales primarily off of Elemental Mastery, meaning her main focus is not her Dendro DMG, per se, but Dendro-related reactions.
Flins & Lauma Will Kick Off A New Era Of Reactions In Genshin Impact
Both Leaked Characters Can Trigger Lunar Reaction Variants
What is most noteworthy from both their leaked kits, however, is the big focus on Lunar-based mechanics. Flins, for example, can trigger Lunar-Charged DMG, much like Ineffa, as he is also an Electro character from Nod-Krai. As such, you’ll want to pair him up with Hydro characters. Like Ineffa in Genshin Impact 5.8, Flins’ mere presence in the team is enough to transform Electro-Charged into Lunar-Charged. Unlike Ineffa, however, Flins’ leaked kit introduces a Nod-Krai mechanic called Moonsign, which is also referred to as Lunar Phases. The team’s Moonsign changes based on the number of Nod-Krai characters in the team. According to a Passive Talent in Flins’ kit, when the Moonsign reaches Ascendant Gleam, the Lunar-Charged reactions triggered by him deal additional DMG.
Leaks about Aino’s kit in Genshin Impact 6.0 indicate that she will be a Hydro character who can increase the Moonsign and trigger Lunar-Charged reactions, which could make her the perfect F2P companion for Flins.
Alternatively, the leaks about Lauma say she will kick off a new Bloom reaction variant called Lunar-Bloom. Like Lunar-Charged, Lunar-Bloom may only be enabled by Nod-Krai characters and may land CRIT hits. Lauma’s leaked kit shows she has a Passive Talent that increases the DMG it causes based on her Elemental Mastery. Moreover, like Flins, Lauma’s kit has a Passive Talent with Moonsign-related buffs. Depending on the Moonsign, she can provide different types of buff stacks to her party members, all of which increase the DMG they deal. Both Flins and Lauma seem to only be the start of Lunar-related reaction variants and Moonsign mechanics, and this may drastically affect the future of Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact's Nod-Krai Characters May Powercreep Everything Else
Lunar Reaction Variants Could Change The Game Forever
I believe that Flins’ and Lauma’s releases are only the start of a wider range of Lunar mechanics, and that this may affect all elements in the Nod-Krai region. As such, certain Pyro, Cryo, Anemo, and Geo reactions could have Lunar variants. If this is truly the case for the upcoming year of content, the Nod-Krai characters could significantly powercreep everything else in the game. At the moment, regular Elemental Reactions can’t land CRIT hits, but if at least one Reaction for each element has a Lunar variant, it may become a staple in the meta. I’d much rather use a character who can enable Lunar reactions for the chance of CRIT hits and, therefore, more damage, than regular Reactions that don’t allow me to do so. The leaked Moonsign mechanic shouldn’t be too much of a game-changer, as it can be compared to the bonuses provided by pairing up characters from the same region. In Natlan, characters get bonuses when other characters trigger Nightsoul mechanics, for example, and I believe Moonsign will be somewhat similar in that sense.
Natlan characters often require other Natlan allies to activate Nightsoul Bursts, while Moonsign seems to only require the presence of another Nod-Krai character in the team.
While I am excited about the possibility of new, powerful gameplay possibilities that could stem from Lunar variants, I can’t deny I’m concerned about my current characters. It feels like there’s a big chance they could get powercrept by the Nod-Krai characters. This would render a lot of my investment into them and their builds useless. I hope that this is not the case and that the Nod-Krai characters in Genshin Impact offer different options rather than indispensable gameplay requirements. Source: Honey Hunter World (1, 2)
