Jet2 'very disappointed' by White House ICE video using viral sound
Jet2 have said that they don’t endorse a video from the White House that uses their viral sound.
The airline have gone incredibly viral over the summer, with people sharing videos of their (good and bad) holiday experiences over an old ad for the airline, which has the line ‘nothing beats a Jet2 holiday’ while Jess Glynne’s Hold My Hand plays in the background.
Taking to social media earlier this week, Donald Trump’s White House shared a video of people being deported while the sound plays, captioning the video ‘When ICE books you a one-way Jet2 holiday to deportation. Nothing beats it!’

The video has been condemned by both Jess Glynne and the airline, with a Jet2 spokesperson saying that they don’t endorse the sound being used in the video.
‘Our branding has become something of a viral phenomenon this summer and we are pleased to see how many people have used it in good humour,’ the spokesperson told PA. ‘This has put a smile on many people’s faces, just like our holidays do. We are of course aware of a post from the White House social media account.
‘This is not endorsed by us in any way, and we are very disappointed to see our brand being used to promote government policy such as this.’

Jess Glynne, whose song is also used in the sound, took to her Instagram story to slam the video; saying ‘This post honestly makes me feel sick. My music is about love, unity, and spreading positivity – never about division or hate.’
The sound has been used in nearly 2million videos on TikTok over the summer, with the woman who told prospective passengers that they’ll save £50 per person, Zoë Lister recreating the line during Chris Stark’s DJ set at Newmarket Racecourse.
When the time came for the song to be played, Zoë made her appearance; telling the crowd that, indeed, nothing beats a Jet2 holiday to cheers.

Zoë saw the fun in what is, admittedly, a fairly stupid meme; captioning the video ‘I will never be over this! Thanks Chris for being stupid-joy initiator. Arena tour next?’
People loved that she was leaning into the meme, with one commenting ‘we’re so immature and I love it.’
‘She’s on tour more than Jess Glynne,’ another joked, while another commented ‘she’s living her best life. Get her to Ibiza.’
