While conducting a speed check in Milltown, Co Kildare — a 60km/h zone — Gardaí detected a vehicle that was dangerously overtaking on a continuous white line, while driving at speeds in excess of 100km/h. Gardaí also warned people not to drive at excessive speeds and dangerously overtake, joking that people should leave the racing to the horses. ‘Driving like this puts lives at risk. Excessive speed and dangerous overtaking are a recipe for serious — even fatal — collisions,’ Gardaí wrote on their Facebook page. ‘Leave the racing to the horses. Stay safe.’
