Sexual assault suspect who skipped bail extradited to Northern Ireland
PSNIA 41-year-old man has been extradited to Northern Ireland from the Republic in relation to sexual assault and handling stolen goods offences. The incidents occurred in Belfast back in April 2019. The suspect was arrested south of the border on June 21 after an extradition warrant was issued.Proceedings were completed on Thursday morning with the man’s successful return to the jurisdiction.He was arrested at the time of the alleged offences before later skipping bail.The suspect is due to appear before Laganside Magistrates Court later today.PSNI Sergeant Davey from the International Policing Unit said: “We continue to work with closely with our law enforcement partners to locate and return persons sought for extradition.Service of removal for Maguiresbridge shooting victims takes place in Co Fermanagh "The Police Service of Northern Ireland is committed to tackling violence against women and girls and today’s extradition delivers on our assurance of the relentless pursuit of perpetrators and supporting victims.“Our message is clear to anyone who has left Northern Ireland to avoid arrest or the consequences of their actions.
