Chaos in Lucan as truck packed with flammable materials erupts
Emergency services responded to a major truck fire in Lucan early this morning, with explosions heard as the blaze took hold.
The incident occurred around 7am in Lucan Village near Brookvale, prompting road closures in the surrounding area.
According to Dublin Fire Brigade, the truck was carrying aerosol cans, textiles, and fuel oils – materials that contributed to what they described as a ‘high intensity fire’.

Firefighter units from both Tallaght and Blanchardstown stations were deployed to bring the fire under control. Gardaí assisted emergency crews at the scene.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed: ‘Gardaí were assisting fire services at the scene of a truck on fire on the Lucan Road this morning.’
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and South Dublin County Council have been notified of the incident.
Dublin Fire Brigade has urged motorists to avoid the area while the road remains closed for clean-up and recovery operations.
