Young girl injured in Parnell Square stabbing 'has come quite far'
The little girl who was injured in a stabbing in Parnell Square ‘has come quite far’ in her recovery, her family have said.
The girl was seriously injured in the attack outside her school, which saw several others injured, with a fundraiser raising over €100,000 and being used by the family to provide updates on her condition.
After spending over a year in hospital following the harrowing attack, the girl, who is now six, has returned to school, with her mum saying that they’ve moved from being day patients in rehabilitation, with her undergoing back-to-back therapies.

‘We have been sailing through the summer holidays, but very little resting has happened,’ the update said. ‘Our darling girl has had back-to-back physio, occupational, and speech and language therapies.
‘After being at home full-time since the end of November, we are day patients in rehabilitation.
‘She has come quite far, and prospects are positive. She is taking this bootcamp like a champ! Then it’s back to school in September.’

It was announced back in June that she was returning to school following the attack in November 2023, and a health setback which her family saying that she showed ‘impressive resilience.’
‘Even after an unexpected stay back in hospital, she smiled through lines being put in, bloods being drawn, oxygen mask, the works,’ the family wrote. ‘She is out again, back home, back in school, getting stronger again.’
The family said her progress is visible to those who don’t see her every day and described her as an ‘angel warrior’, thanking friends and supporters for their continued encouragement.
