O'Connell Street McDonald's reopens after €3m refurbishment

McDonald's O'Connell Street has reopened following a €3 million refurbishment project. Located at 50-51 O'Connell Street Lower, one of the city’s busiest restaurants originally opened its doors in 1977. The significant investment in the new-look restaurant is set to create an additional 25 jobs over the coming months, bringing the total number employees at the restaurant to more than 115. The upgraded restaurant design has been developed to reflect the variety in ordering methods, including a dedicated delivery driver collection area and a new kitchen design with a bigger order assembly area. The refurb also welcomes a remodeled dining area and refurbished customers’ toilets. Improvements have also been made to the crew member room. The O’Connell Street McDonald’s is owned and operated by Amir Afsar, who also manages several McDonald’s restaurants across Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford. He said: “We’re thrilled to welcome customers back to our newly refurbished O’Connell Bridge restaurant. "Following an intensive eight-week transformation, we’re excited for our loyal guests to experience the upgrades firsthand. Our goal is to make every visit exceptional, whether for customers, delivery partners, or our crew. "These enhancements are designed to deliver a faster, more seamless and more convenient experience for everyone who walks through our doors.” The McDonald’s restaurant at O’Connell Bridge operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
