TIPA Awards Incoming!
The General Assembly of the Technical Image Press Association convened in Istanbul, Turkey, from March 20 to 23, 2025, to select the annual TIPA World Award winners. Delegates from TIPA member magazines and online publications – spanning professional, amateur, and business sectors in Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America, and including Professional Photo – joined the assembly, along with representatives from the Camera Journal Press Club of Japan and Visual 1st from the United States.
The official announcement of the 2025 TIPA World Award winners will be made on April 17, 2025, at 08:00 CEST on the TIPA website followed by coverage in member websites, publications, and a global press release to the imaging and business media. The official awards ceremony and presentation will take place in autumn.
In addition to ground-breaking cameras and lenses across all levels – from entry to expert to professional – the 2025 TIPA World Award winners reflect the diversity and innovation of today’s imaging landscape. Recognised products include printers, imaging software, storage solutions, print-on-demand services, accessories, tools for content creators, lighting equipment, and more.
The Award Process
The prestige of the TIPA World Awards is rooted in a rigorous and thoughtful selection process. Beginning each year shortly after New Year’s Day, the TIPA Technical Committee – led by veteran editor Johan Elzenga – collects nominations across all product categories. Equipment is thoroughly tested and reviewed, and new categories are introduced to reflect emerging trends in imaging technology.
A shortlist of finalists is then compiled and distributed to the editors of TIPA member publications worldwide. Editors provide input, suggest additions and evaluate each product. This feedback is consolidated into a final list of nominees, and the winners are then voted on during the annual General Assembly.
In essence, the TIPA World Award process brings together a global panel of experienced and knowledgeable editors, each with deep insight into the needs and preferences of their readership. These editors represent trusted voices in the photo and imaging world, and their votes ensure that the awards reflect genuine product excellence.
