Adobe adds AI Magic to Premiere Pro
The latest update to Adobe’s popular Premier Pro video editing package includes a raft of clever new features, the most eye-catching of which is Generative Extend, which utilises AI to instantly generate and expand the length of video and audio clips, while AI-powered Media Intelligence has been added to enable the speedy finding of specific clips in terabytes of footage within seconds.
With Generative Extend, which is powered by the Firefly Video Model and, crucially, is safe for commercial use, editors can now extend video in 4K and in vertical orientation – along with audio clips – transforming how they cover gaps in footage. The new facility lengthens clips to cover video or audio gaps in footage, smooths out transitions and hold shots longer for perfectly timed edits. Users just need to click and drag to add photorealistic video and audio extensions, delivering flexibility in timeline adjustments without sacrificing quality.
