The Spirit Walker Twisters Huntress feels good almost straight away, which is rare for a build that also scales into hard content. You pick up Whirling Slash and Twister at level 1, so there's no awkward "play something else until later" phase. How the damage comes together
The main thing to remember is simple: don't walk out of your Whirling Slash storm before casting Twister. If you leave it, the storm drops and your empowered hit is wasted. Keep Whirling Slash at level 1 as well. It does its job without draining your mana, and that matters more than people expect during the campaign.
Barrage adds extra projectiles by spending Frenzy Charges, while Ice-Tipped Arrows turns the Twisters cold and creates ice fragments that tear through packs. Against rares and bosses, Freezing Mark is worth the button press. It helps freeze tougher enemies and, with the right setup, adds extra shock-based value too.
Levelling without making it painful
Act 1 is where Parry and Fangs of Frost do a lot of heavy lifting. Parry a hit, drop Fangs of Frost, and you get chilled ground for your Twisters to abuse. It's a bit scrappy, but it works.

Weapon Set 1 should be fast. Use it for Whirling Slash and Barrage, and look for as much attack speed as you can get. Weapon Set 2 wants flat damage instead. Don't get fooled by sheet DPS, since attack speed can make a weapon look better than it is for Twister scaling.
An Omen Sceptre in the second set is a strong pickup once you can find one, since Malice helps your critical chance. On armour, prioritise Life and Resistances first. Early on, Armour or Armour/Evasion bases tend to feel much safer than pure Evasion.
When the build starts to feel finished
As you push deeper, the passive tree becomes less about surviving the campaign and more about scaling the parts that matter. Take enough Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence to equip your gems and gear, then lean into Strength for more Life.
Hail is strong because both Barrage and Ice-Tipped Arrows empower your attacks, and Skill Effect Duration is great for Twister uptime. Dance with Death is awkward but powerful, since the empty off-hand bonus helps your first weapon set feel snappier.
