Brexit U-Turn Fears Explode! Farage Challenges Burnham Over EU Plans And Free Movement

Nigel Farage has attacked renewed discussion around EU free movement, arguing that Britain should not reopen migration arrangements he says would undermine Brexit-era border controls. Speaking in London, the Reform UK leader disputed the prime minister’s claim that illegal migration was easier to manage while Britain belonged to the European Union. Farage cited the former Dublin system and argued that Britain had previously been required to accept more people from Europe than it returned. He also claimed that hundreds of thousands of people originally from Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Eritrea have since obtained EU passports and could potentially enter Britain under renewed free movement. Those figures and implications are Farage’s claims in the supplied speech. The provided material does not independently substantiate them. Farage framed the issue as a renewed political fight over Brexit, declaring that if the prime minister wants a battle over free movement, “we will take that fight on.”
