‘AS A SON OF AFRICA…’: Mamdani DESTROYS Trump’s Ilhan Omar Rhetoric With Personal Immigration Story

Zohran Mamdani turned a speech celebrating New York’s Eastern European communities into a broader defense of immigrants — using his own story as someone born in East Africa who came to New York as a child.

Mamdani said the city’s identity cannot be separated from the immigrant communities that built it, pointing to Romanian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian and other Eastern European New Yorkers whose lives are woven into the story of the city.
