Mayoral candidates clashed over the state of OC Transpo during a heated crossfire debate on Ottawa transit reliability and funding. Candidates Alex Lawson, Jeff Leiper and Neil Saravanamutooo pressed incumbent mayor Mark Sutcliffe over service cuts and costs, calling public transit a dumpster fire four years after similar criticism. Defending his record, Sutcliffe cited September performance figures showing a 69 per cent drop in undelivered trips and an 18 per cent drop in complaints. Opponents argued residents are not feeling those improvements while questioning funding plans and a proposed upload to Metrolinx.
