Infrastructure tops housing priorities in new poll | CTV News Ottawa at Six for October 11, 2026

Exclusive polling from Nanos Research reveals that Ottawa residents rank improving infrastructure to support growth ahead of affordability as the city's top housing priority. CTV's Josh Marano speaks with hospital physiotherapist Elizabeth Houlding and resident Megan Alliset, who say surging living costs have priced out full-time workers and forced renters to move back in with family; hundreds of thousands of visitors are flocking to Gatineau Park for the Thanksgiving long weekend, triggering widespread traffic jams and overflowing parking lots. CTV's Kimberley Johnson speaks with park visitor Shri Vogedy, who spent over half an hour searching for an open space after roads opened near Pink Lake; and families across the region are celebrating Thanksgiving weekend by exploring seasonal farm activities, harvest festivities and artisan markets. CTV's Camille Wilson speaks with Dawn Westwater, who brought her family from Cambridge, Ont., to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum for educational crafts, pumpkin displays and a haunted house.
