Iran Navy 'Blows Up U.S.-Backed' Ships In Hormuz; Tehran Confirms Vessels Hit By Naval Mines
Fresh explosions have reportedly rocked the Strait of Hormuz, raising new concerns over the safety of commercial shipping in one of the world’s most critical energy corridors. Iranian state media reported that oil tankers may have struck naval mines while using routes Tehran considers unauthorised, although details of the incident, including the number of vessels involved and any casualties or damage, remain unclear. The reported blasts come as Iran warns regional countries against opening alternative oil-export routes and tensions continue over competing restrictions on maritime traffic. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump says Washington will not attack Iran before the November midterm elections, claiming that talks aimed at ending the war are productive. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has also confirmed that Tehran is reviewing Washington’s response to Iran’s proposed Seven-Day Plan, with a formal reply expected in the coming days.
