REVEALED: American Army In Arab Nation's War, Shock Casualties? US Issues Big Gulf Alert

Around 200 American military personnel are reportedly working in Saudi Arabia as Washington provides intelligence, targeting and battlefield-planning assistance for Riyadh’s campaign against Yemen’s Houthis. CNN previously reported that more than 100 US advisers were on the ground, with an American official putting the broader number involved at roughly 200. US personnel are helping Saudi forces with intelligence and geospatial targeting, including technology that reportedly provides officers with a near-real-time picture of battlefield activity. The assistance comes as Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s internationally recognised government launch a major operation against Houthi-held territory backed by Saudi airstrikes. Riyadh has sought direct American strikes against the Houthis, but the Trump administration has declined for now. Washington describes its current role as non-combat support. US officials have indicated, however, that the position could change if the situation deteriorates, leaving American personnel deeply involved in supporting the campaign while US forces remain outside direct combat.
