Data from Elections Ottawa shows a 50 per cent increase in voter turnout during the first three days of four special advance municipal voting compared to the 2022 election. CTV's Austin Lee reports that an average of 6,500 ballots have been cast each day at the 10 early polling stations across the city. Ottawa City Clerk Caitlin Salter MacDonald says staff have been working to boost turnout and saw people lining up outside stations before they opened on the first day. One more advance voting day is scheduled for October 16 ahead of the municipal election on October 26.
