‘DEATH BEFORE OUR EYES’: Passengers Describe Blood, Screams And Cockpit Struggle On Flydubai Plane

A routine flydubai flight from Dubai to Israel was diverted to Saudi Arabia after a violent incident unfolded inside the aircraft, with passengers reporting a struggle involving a man and the cockpit crew. Passengers told Israeli media that they heard screams and a call for help from the cockpit before several people rushed toward the front of the aircraft. Some passengers said they helped restrain a man after an alleged stabbing incident. One passenger’s family member told Reuters that passengers believed the aircraft was losing control and feared they were going to die. She said other pilots eventually took control while passengers intervened and subdued the attacker. The exact circumstances inside the cockpit remain unclear. Unconfirmed reports have suggested that the copilot may have attacked the captain and attempted to interfere with the aircraft, but investigators have yet to publicly establish the sequence of events. Israel is investigating the incident as a suspected terror attack, with authorities expected to examine what happened between the pilots, whether there was an attempt to take control of the aircraft and how passengers intervened while the plane was airborne.
