Pope TORCHES Europe In Fiery "Pro-Russia" Speech; Blasts War In Ukraine, Military Spendings
Pope Leo XIV has issued a sharp warning over the global surge in military spending, arguing that pouring more money into weapons risks fuelling tensions, escalating conflicts and diverting resources from hunger, housing, healthcare and education.
Speaking to reporters aboard his flight back to Rome after a four-day visit to France, Pope Leo XIV warned that rising military budgets and renewed discussions about nuclear weapons are bringing the world closer to more destructive wars. His remarks come as European defence spending continues to rise and NATO allies move toward a major increase in defence and security spending.
The Pope also addressed the growing risks surrounding artificial intelligence, saying governments, technology companies and civil society cannot simply ignore expert warnings about where AI could lead.
