Tesla Grok can now do much more than just have a conversation. In Tesla's 2026 Summer Update, Grok gained new vehicle integrations that let you control many everyday functions using your voice—and I wanted to see just how useful they really are.
In this video, I demonstrate Tesla Grok voice controls in my 2025 Model 3 Highland and test how much I can accomplish without touching the screen. I use "Hey Grok" to adjust climate settings, control my ventilated seat, play music, make calls, navigate, find vehicle settings, open the glovebox, create location-based reminders, answer questions about my Tesla, and even try giving Grok multiple commands at once.
I'll also show where Grok still falls short and explain the difference between using Grok for free and having a paid SuperGrok plan. Do you actually need to pay for Grok to use these Tesla controls? What do you gain with a paid plan? And what vehicle functions can Grok still NOT control?
For me, the biggest benefit isn't simply having another AI assistant in the car. It's being able to accomplish more without hunting through menus or taking my attention away from the road to operate the touchscreen.
