Dr Kevin Fong is a consultant anaesthetist and critical care doctor at University College London Hospital. In 2020, he worked for NHS England on emergency preparedness during the Covid-19 pandemic. He has also worked with NASA on human spaceflight and space medicine.

Dr Fong's new book, Minute Six, explores whether Britain's institutions, from the NHS to prisons, are operating too close to the edge, waiting for their next shock.
