The controversy around OpenAI "solving" a $1m math problem (Navier-Stokes)

AI Article: Perplexity Google Lens
OpenAI claims to have solved the Navier-Stokes problem, but others claim their work has been copied. This is an evolving story, and I offer the frontier of that story as known on September 8, 2026. We are all living in history. If OpenAI really solved the $1,000,000 Clay Math Institute Millennium Prize problem, then good on them. But what does that mean for us, or the people OpenAI (potentially) copied?

Also, guys and gals, I'm sorry about my pronunciation; I certainly mispronounced some things because of this video's rushed production.

Terence Tao weighed in on Stan Palasek providing a possible hole in the OpenAI proposed solution to Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem. Is that solution ripped off of Levet Alpoge

I'm just trying to get to this before @veritasium or @numberphile or @CleoAbram , because this is certainly big if true.

Look at all these sources. I made this video in 7 hours, so if you enjoyed please genuinely consider subscribing. I hope this video made you a little bit more informed.

This is my 4th monetized video, and I tried to make it pretty high quality. That said, I had to move quickly in editing so that I could get the story out to you guys. Also, I'm 16 years old making these videos and am about to start studying at UCLA, so any of your support would be much appreciated.
